Annual General Meeting 2018: Tuesday 14th August
This year’s AGM is just around the corner.
Please come along to hear what has been achieved in the last 12 months and what exciting plans are in store for the coming year.
You don’t need to worry about being asked to take on any responsibility for running the Shed, as sufficient Committee members have volunteered to continue, together with some new faces.
So you can just relax and enjoy the night.
When: Tuesday 14th August 2018 starting at 7.00 pm
Where: Vincent Men’s Shed
See you there!
Caitlin Parker from Juniper visited us recently to give us a highly informative talk about blood pressure and the lifestyle and eating choices we can make to manage it. She produced a terrific handout card showing how to interpret the nutrition information panel on packaged food items. That’s Derek and Tony talking with Caitlin after the very well received presentation.
The doll’s house raffle we held at the Hyde Park Fair has been drawn and the winner is Robin Battel (green ticket E25). Many thanks to the many people who supported the Vincent Men’s Shed by buying tickets.
Rocking horses for sale! Richard has masterminded a rocking horse design that can be made for sale. This one has already been sold. Key players in building this rocking horse were Richard, Barry and Irvine. It is planned to have another ready for sale at Hyde Park Fair.
Bendigo Bank has again generously donated to the Vincent Men’s Shed. The bank is a long standing supporter of the Shed and indeed the larger local community. We are very appreciative of their donation of $1500 towards improvement of shed facilities. Shown in the photo is Nick Catania, chairman of the North Perth Branch of Bendigo Bank, presenting the cheque .
Bill Dempster and Ante Beros are valued members of our shed. They have exceeded 200 attendances and hence have the opportunity to wave the bat!
Cameron and Edde have been fitting out their Mitsubishi Express van for extensive travel in Australia. This has been big project involving lining the inside of the van and constructing internal furniture together with the electrical work required for their solar powered electrical system. They have departed for a three month trip. It has been great having them at the Shed.
Vincent Men’s Shed assisted the Western Australian Fibre and Textile Association in preparation for their “Altered States” competition display in the Perth Town Hall. The Shed cut threaded steel rods and MDF sheets to size for the display tables. Another interesting job.
The Vincent Men’s Shed has just recently bought new welding equipment for the shed and the Vincent Men’s Shed wishes to acknowledge and thank BOC gases, ART 1 and Action Laser for their generosity and ongoing support to our shed.
